Meet Our Staff

  • Dawn Schulman

    EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dawn believes that every child is a flower just waiting to bloom. At OASIS…she works hard to empower all students by providing them with equal access to the clothing they need to fully engage in their learning, feel like they fit in with their peers, and develop into the leaders of tomorrow.

When Dawn isn’t at OASIS, she is playing with her senior golden retriever rescue dogs, Nova & Coconut, scuba diving, or reading a book by the pool. During the football season, you might catch her trading out her OASIS blue on Fridays for Kansas City Chiefs’ gear as she prepared to root for her favorite football team.

  • Brita Wilkins Lincoln

    DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

Brita’s original connection to OASIS Opportunities was through the Junior League of Tampa. She began writing grants for OASIS in 2011 after realizing her love for the mission of making sure kids have the clothes they need to succeed in school. This purpose dovetailed with her other advocacy education efforts, volunteering with the PTSAs at her children’s schools, county and statewide.

When Brita isn’t at OASIS she can be found enjoying time with her husband and two grown boys, traveling, exercising, reading books and spending time with her mom and sister. During the fall you can find her cheering on the Florida State Seminoles and during the spring you can catch her watching her youngest son pitch for East Georgia State College – Go Bobcats! .

  • Mary Wetterling

    PROGRAMS COORDINATOR

Mary believes it is important and essential to build confidence, integrity, and hope in the next generations. Through OASIS. she can be a part of a team that provides clothing and basic necessities to enable each student to succeed.

When Mary isn't at OASIS, she can be found at one of the local theme parks playing and eating with her husband and 3 kids. In addition, she runs a circus at home with 2 rescue dogs Coco & Chanel, and 2 mischievous ferrets, Reese and Snickerdoodle.

    Lupe Perez

    SITE COORDINATOR

Lupe believes that every child should have an opportunity to succeed and that everyone can be a part of making that happen. She enjoys being able to work directly with our volunteers on the Oasis mission to help students in our community obtain basic necessities.

When Lupe isn’t at OASIS, she attends her kids’ school events and takes family walks with her dogs, Luna and Lob. She loves to read and participate in library events. Lupe, her husband, and two kids also relish tasting different ice cream shops around the Tampa Bay area .

Meet Our Board of Directors

  • Steve Edinger

    BOARD CHAIR

I believe that OASIS is a ‘small but mighty’ non-profit doing amazing work locally via a simple and powerful business model. I was inspired to join the OASIS Board in 2018 to drive strategic planning and in 2022 moved into the Board Chair role. I am passionate about growing OASIS from serving a record 15,000+ Hillsborough students last year to an estimated 25,000 kids in need.

  • Allison McCoy

    SECRETARY

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the community through OASIS Opportunities. In particular, I love the relationships that OASIS has fostered with school social workers, providing a valuable connection that allows us to readily serve and improve the lives of students and their families. I look forward to many more lives being changed as we work together to create a better future for children.

  • DeWanna Coleman

    DIRECTOR

I learned about OASIS through a colleague who’s involved in Tampa Connection. She introduced me to OASIS and provided insight into the work OASIS is doing for the community. When an opportunity arose to get involved by becoming a BOD member, I jumped at the opportunity.

This work is important because children deserve to be able to attend school with dignity no matter their families’ circumstances.

  • Yasmine Gardiner

    DIRECTOR

I discovered OASIS Opportunities through Tampa Connection in April 2024. After attending their Chrissy’s Closet clothing site opening at Gary Adult High School, I felt a strong desire to help expand their mission. Meeting the leadership team and volunteers reinforced my belief in their cause and inspired me to join the board. The mission of OASIS Opportunities is vital as it fosters hope, compassion, and thoughtfulness by providing hygiene products and clothing to those in need—a wonderful way to boost confidence and aspirations within the Tampa Bay community.

  • Cheryl Harrell

    DIRECTOR

I came to know OASIS over 20 years ago. It is amazing how this organization has grown and now serves over 15,000 schoolchildren! I was inspired to serve OASIS due to my own childhood and my work for over 40 years as a clinical social worker in various capacities. Providing nice clothing is a way to help children see themselves with pride and build their confidence. This strengthens the emotional foundation of a child despite any challenges the child must face. I am grateful to be part of this work, a priceless investment in the lives of children.

  • Lisa Marteney

    DIRECTOR

I felt inspired to apply to the OASIS Opportunities Board after hearing about, and seeing first hand the impact being made. Children should be able to focus on school and not worry about basic items that most of us take for granted. I look forward to working with Dawn, the Executive Director, and the Board to grow the outreach to help ensure children have the items they need so they can focus on learning.

  • Casey O'Brien

    DIRECTOR

I first learned about OASIS in the winter of 2023 and I couldn't be more excited to be involved. As a former educator, I've seen first-hand how important access to basic needs are for a student's ability to learn. I look forward to promoting this amazing organization and helping to increase their impact in the community!

  • Matt Stanley

    DIRECTOR

I am thrilled and honored to be part of this wonderful organization. I first learned about OASIS a year ago through Tampa Connection. During that year, working with them made me realize how much I wanted to continue working with this incredible team of volunteers. Every student deserves access to the essential items that OASIS provides to promote learning with dignity and self-confidence.

  • Julie Williamson

    DIRECTOR

I'm excited to be joining an organization that has had such a tremendous impact on the lives of students in our community. Students need the basic necessities to thrive in the classroom and OASIS has provided that to thousands of children in Hillsborough County for 20+ years. I look forward to being a part of the next 20 years!
